Journal of a Dead-Eye Pirate - Chapter 1: Witchdoctor Sets Sail!

Journal of a Dead-Eye Pirate - Chapter 1: Witchdoctor Sets Sail!

Ahoy fellow pirates! If ye have found this journal ye be be read'n th' wondrous tail o' Dead-Eye Dustin, one o' th' first Dead-Eye pirates t' sail th' spiral! I have decided t' write this journal t' share all me tales wi' th' pirates who dare find me journal in me treasure! T' begin me adventure I be rescued off o' an Armada Prison Ship by th' unseaworthily infamous Boochbeard an' his sidekick Gandry!

Just your typical pirates, as ye can see! Howe'er they were very blastedly helpful, an' helped me escape th' prison ship an' add a new member t' me crew! Kan Po!

Howe'er, just cause I escaped an' made an ally doesn't mean I'm safe an' sound! I be threatened by an Armada leader; Deacon.

Be'n th' nice pirate I be, I got o'er his carbunculously little threat an' decided t'....

Sink 'nother Armada ship! Yo-ho, th' Armada took me parents away from me, so I won't be gett'n o'er them very soon! Aft escap'n th' Armada, I struck a deal wi' Cap'n Avery, Pirate leader o' Skull Isle, an' helped him wi' silly things he should be able t' do himself!

I added 'nother member t' me crew!

I enjoyed cast'n hoodoo on th' local Troggies!

I got myself some shark teeth!

...with Kan Po o' course!

MORE HOODOO POWER!

...and more sharks.

An' don't forget th' gibberish Troggy language!

Flush'n th' Troggy toilet!

An' thus I finished Avery's dirty work! But that's nay all! Cap'n Avery rewarded me wi' a ship!

Do ye like it? OH! No, that's nay me ship...

This pathetic skiff is! An' you'd think that aft I be ripped off by Cap'n Avery I'd walk away an' ne'er see him agin... Oh no! I offer t' help him agin by try'n t' find Cap'n Gunn's treasure!

Needless t' say, I may be a powerful pirate, but I'm nay th' brightest! I'll let ye know where me journey leads next in me next entry! Until then, pirates!

Paige Moonshade's House of Doom!

Hello everyone! Has your October been Spook-tacular yet? I know mine has, since I was able to attend Paige Moonshade's House of Doom! It was a very exciting event, and although I wasn't lucky enough to win any prizes, I still had a blast! I'd like to thank Ms. Moonshade very much for hosting this event, as she needed a large amount of patience to handle all of the guests at her house! I've never seen someone handle a party like this so well, so once again, thank you Paige Moonshade! For those of you her weren't able to attend last night, don't you worry! The House of Doom will be returning October 19th for one hour! Visit Paige's Page for more info! Are you busy that day too? No problem! I decided to take some pictures of the exciting event to show all of you!

Say hello to the early bird crew! We showed up two hours early!

First arriving into the House of Doom, while objects were still loading!

Pirate101 Sneak Peak Event Pictures and the Pioneer's Eyepatch!

Thanks for Attending the Pirate101 Sneak Peak Event!

To start off, I'd like to thank all the advanced Beta players for their huge attendance in helping the new pirates who were giving the game a try! There were SO many pirates already waiting outside Avery's Office before the sneak peak even began! Everyone was extremely helpful to the community, and I was happy to see that the friendliness from Wizard101 spread over to Pirate101. I'd also like to thank all the new pirates who weren't a part of the beta who helped stress test the Pirate101 server. There was a huge attendance, and I loved hearing the comments from everyone playing on how amazing the game was! Of course, some people were unable to attend the event, so I decided to take some pictures to share with everyone!

Waiting on Skull Island with Paige Moonshade, Kelsey Fireheart, and others for the new pirates!

One of the first pirates to arrive during the sneak peak!

There's a lot of people waiting to help the new pirates!

A new Witchdoctor testing his skills on a troggy!

Pretty intense battle for new players!

The best thing I heard the whole night!

Avery is going to need a secretary...

Wasn't as crowded in this corner of the room!

Kelsey Fireheart being the helpful pirate she is!

I made lots of new friends!

Cutthroats...

More cutthroats...

Even more cutthroats!

The first boss battle of Pirate101!

The more pirates, the more cutthroats!

This is a scary sight for someone who doesn't like sharks...

All-in-all, this was by far the most fun I've had in the Pirate101 beta so far! There's only one more opportunity for that to change, and that's at the End of Beta Party hosted by Paige Moonshade. This party will take place on Saturday, October 6th at 3:00 PM EST, and will end at the Beta Closing time at 6:00 PM EST. Hopefully all beta veterans will be able to attend! I will be there, so I hope to see some friendly faces!

Yo-Ho! Pirate101 Launch Date!!

Ahoy pirates! Do I have some good news from you! Here is a post taken from Pirate101 Central;
Shiver Me Timbers!

Put on your eye patch, sharpen your cutlass and wake up your parrot. You can play Pirate101, the highly anticipated follow-up to KingsIsle Entertainment’s family-friendly online game Wizard101, as soon as next week.

On Monday October 8, anyone that purchased a Pirate101 pre-launch bundle or participated in the game’s beta test will be able to log in and enjoy a one week head start in the game, according to KingsIsle. You can also get early access if you purchase certain membership types or buy a Pirate101 retail game card –they’ll be in stores on October 8th as well. Everyone else gets their chance to play the game when general availability begins on Monday, October 15.
Pirate101 is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game where players become swashbuckling pirates, assemble a crew, captain a ship, and explore exotic worlds in search of for plunder and glory. When it is released to the general public on October 15, the game will be free to download and play, but users will have to purchase a monthly subscription or spend “crowns,” KingsIsle’s virtual currency, to access certain locations.
Pirate101 is set in The Spiral, the same universe as Wizard101, though the two games feature different locations: Players can sail their sky ships between five new worlds, Skull Island, Monquista, Valencia, Cool Ranch and MooShu. When they run into trouble, Pirate101 also handles combat differently; instead of a card-game mechanic, it uses a turn-based strategy system. Generally, the game feels more “adult.” It’s still family-friendly, but the action and humor should appeal more to older players.
Wizard101 was targeted at children between the ages of 8 and 12, but also proved popular with adults, particularly parents who play with their kids. It currently has over 30 million registered players in the US alone. The game competes with other kid-friendly MMOs like Sony’s Free Realms, Jagex Games Studio’s RuneScape and Disney’s Club Penguin. Pirate101 is meant to skew slightly older, for kids who have grown out of Wizard101, but aren’t yet old enough for adult MMOs like Activision Blizzard‘s World of Warcraft.

This is some very good news, and I can't wait to finally sail the skyways with all you pirates! I will be playing from day one of the pre-launch, so hopefully by the official launch I can start helping some of the novice pirates! With the official release of Pirate101, I'd also like to announce a new project I'll be starting; The Journal of a Dead-Eye Pirate.

The Journal of a Dead-Eye Pirate will be a a regularly updated (one to three times each week) blog section that will be based completely off of my journeys through Pirate101! This will help those Pirates who don't have the opportunity to play or are unable to subscribe the change to look into the world of Pirate101! The Journal of a Dead-Eye Pirate will feature gettogethers and contests, and will be a good source for those who are stuck in a part of the game, as I will feature some step-by-step guides.

Well, until next time Pirates!
