Journal of a Dead-Eye Pirate - Chapter 4: The Gold Monkey

Ahoy pirates! It is I Dead-Eye Dustin! I have successfully recovered Captain Gunn's treasure, and now I am encouraged by Captain Avery to complete another daring task! He wishes to set up a trade company with the Monquistadors, but they're not very... open... to the rest of the spiral. It is my job to present some of Captain Gunn's treasure as gift to the Monquistadors in request for a trade company. When I got to Puerto Mico, a Monquistan Territory on Skull Island, things didn't exactly go as planned... The majordomo was not fond of my "outfit" so I had to get another one.

The majordomo gave it to me himself!

Aren't I stunning?! These clothes are definitely my style. I finally was dressed well enough to speak with the Governor!

He wasn't very enthusiastic about my trade offer, apparently. So he sent me to do some things that would prove my interest in helping the Monquistadors.

I spoke with Bishop Hidalgo, who sent me to the Isle of Doom to bring back the long lost Gortez home. Apparently he was sent their to investigate something known as "The Gold Monkey," but he never came back! So it was now my duty to get him back. During my journey for Gortez I fought many vicious enemies!

I managed to defeat every enemy that dared encounter me! Eventually, I found Gortez...

He wasn't exactly what I expected, but he did put up a good fight! I took him as my prisoner and returned to Puerto Mico!

When I returned, however, there was new governor! Apparently the first wasn't fit for the job... This new governor had no idea what I had been doing, so she told me to deliver Gortez to the Holy Monquisition, and speak with the King and Queen of Monquista. What an interesting change in events this has been! I'll write more when I arrive in Monquista! Until next time pirates!

The Great Skull Island Scavenger Hunt!

Ahoy pirates! Welcome to the Great Skull Island Scavenger Hunt! Marco Pollo sent me a special map with two codes, but I must first make sure the recipients are worthy of such a great reward... Below are six pictures of objects located throughout Skull Island. In order to prove yourself, you must be one of the first two pirates to take a picture of yourself standing with these items! The next three people to send their pictures will receive a Wizard101 Pack of their choice. All pictures should be sent (in one email when you are finished) to dustinfiregem@gmail.com. But wait, I feel as though I should give a little help... Below are clues associated with each picture!

Marco Pollo's Map!

Ahoy mateys! Yesterday I received some mail from Marco Pollo himself, and he was kind enough to give me a duplicate of his map that would help me gain a new ally in my crew! This isn't an ordinary "X Marks the Spot" kind of map though, I needed to solve puzzles to get me reward!

From the journal of Marco Pollo -

In my voyage across the Spiral, on the world of Mooshu, I discovered a powerful and invaluable treasure: selfless loyalty in the form of a pledge of service to any who decipher the secrets embedded within this precious map. My map has other uses... secret uses beyond showing the path to El Dorado. I have concealed five sets of codes within my map to grant this sacred gift to those who are worthy. Yet this trust is not to be taken lightly, so two additional sets of codes are interspersed to mislead the unworthy. The five proper codes, placed together in the right order, will yield that great treasure, while the two lesser codes, placed together in their own correct order, will send travelers to another place with its own reward. This may be for naught however. My map is the key to a power so great and terrible that I must take extraordinary measures. I will tear it into seven pieces and scatter those pieces across the Spiral. In time, perhaps it can be restored through the greatest effort... but that time is still to come. For now, perhaps the codes I have hidden within the pieces of my map can be of use against the forces of tyranny and evil.

And thus I began my journey for the codes! Now I've heard that I was only one of the few people who received this map, and since my code can be given to two more lucky pirates, I will be sharing it; for a price of course!

Just as Marco Pollo did, I will be sending YOU on a treasure hunt throughout Skull Island! The first two to complete the treasure hunt will receive the code from Marco Pollo's map, and the following three winners will receive a Wizard101 Pack (subject to change) of their choice. Ahoy pirates! If ye be still read'n this it means I have survived me journey so far, an' I didn't grow too lazy t' belay writ'n this journal! I left off talk'n t' Cap'n Ahab bout th' Frogfather an' I found out some information...

It turns out that th' residents o' Jonah Town be in debt t' th' Frogfather, an' have b'n pay'n him booty t' "protect" their precious whale o' an island! Cap'n Ahab told me where I could find th' Frogfather... An' I wished I ne'er found out...

Th' Frogfather lived in Gullet, an isle inside th' fly'n whale's stomach! Aft some investigat'n I found out where th' Frogfather be hid'n.

But, it turned out t' be a trap. But these toads didn't know me! I defeated them all, so they gladly showed me where th' Frogfather actually lived.

What a nice place he lives in! He can afford it cause he scams birds fer booty fer a liv'n...

I spoke wi' th' Frogfather an' he told me that he did have information on where Ratbeard be, but thar be a catch o' course.

I needed t' do him favor, so he owed me a favor, in which he would give me th' favor aft I gave him a favor. So in conclusion, we would exchange a favor fer a favor... I think...

Th' Frogfather wanted me t' steal some spices from th' Monquistan Presidio, so that be exactly what I did!

 

Aft successfully steal'n th' spices from th' Presidio, an' mak'n a new ally, I returned t' th' Frogfather. B'fore I got th' information on Ratbeard, howe'er, Gaspard De Vole, one o' me parents' old crew mates, offered t' join me crew!

I be very blastedly happy that he joined me crew...

He's got some awesome moves!

I be very angry, howe'er, when I found out th' Frogfather couldn't give me any information on Ratbeard cause o' a favor fer him. So he transferred his favor t' a rabbit named One-Eyed Jack who lived on Flotsam.

Gaspard De Vole had b'n keep'n me parents' old ship fer a carbunculously long time, an' he had given it t' me t' use on me journey! So far he seems very helpful, an' I be happy he joined me crew! Until next time, Pirates!

Journal of a Dead-Eye Pirate - Chapter 2: Ratbeard Rebellion

Ahoy pirates! This be me second entry o' me journal, an' things have definitely gone... nay as planned! I decided t' accept Cap'n Avery's second request, an' I be now undergo'n th' hunt fer Cap'n Gunn's treasure. Avery told me he left th' Will an' Map fer th' treasure wi' a Watermole named Mormo. Avery told me t' trust him an' that he shall join me crew on th' journey. B'fore head'n t' Mormo t' g't th' Will, I decided t' visit Madame Vadima, a Witchdoctor Trainer.

She didn't exactly give me th' answers I be look'n fer, but I suppose she spoke o' enough. Aft, "Stab That Crustation!" I headed o'er t' th' Tavern t' meet wi' me blastedly new crew! 

When I arrived, thar be a big dispute go'n on; Ratbeard had our ship, but Mormo had th' Will! I tried me best t' settle th' problem, but they continued t' argue!

Eventually Ratbeard attacked!

I tried t' settle it peacefully... Hehe... But Rateard stole th' Will from Mormo t' try an' find th' treasure himself an' take all th' gold! So, I decided t' follow him t' Bloody Shoals.

Here, I be surprised t' find Ratbeard's crew dead! He had poisoned them so he could have th' treasure t' himself! Be'n th' passionate Pirate I be, I decided t' help them, hop'n that they would return th' favor.

I helped them repay debts...

Got some Batacuda meat...

I encountered some Crab Thugs...

Hoodoo t' th' rescue!

An' I saved blastedly poor Young Nick! Cause o' me great help, Ratbeard's crews' spirits rewarded me by tell'n me where t' head next; I needed t' find th' Frogfather.

I met wi' Cap'n Ahab in Jonah Town (a city on top a sky whale) an' he didn't exactly sound unseaworthily enthusiastic wi' me interest in th' Frogfather. I decided t' stay a night at an Inn nearby an' would continue me treasure hunt th' next day. Until then, pirates!
